Skaland, Norway
Skaland is a village in Senja Municipality in Troms og Finnmark county, Norway. The village is located on the shores of the Bergsfjorden on the northwest side of the island of Senja, about 15 km to the southwest of the village of Senjahopen and about 70 km southwest of the city of Tromsø.
On the seaward side of Senja island where the ocean meets the sky, the tourist route winds across the hill overlooking the village of Bergsbotn. From a 44-metre long platform you can enjoy the grand vista of the Bergsfjord and the surrounding peaks.
The Tungeneset rest area lies on the tip of the promontory that separates the Steinsfjord and the Ersfjord. A walkway built in Siberian larch leads out over the rocks to provide a view to the Northern Sea in the west and the mountain Oksen with the sharp peaks in the north.
