Tower Of Stockholm City Hall, Stockholm, Sweden. Sept. 30, 2019
Tower Of Stockholm City Hall,
The viewpoint at the very top is closed to visitors for safety reasons. View of the Bell's.
The viewpoint is 73 m above sea level and you can walk around the whole tower, allowing you to see all of Stockholm. Up here you can also see four large sculptures, including Eric IX of Sweden (known as Eric the Saint), Stockholm’s patron saint.
At the top of the tower there are three crowns. The Three Crowns have been the national emblem of Sweden since the 14th century. The crowns on the tower are angled towards Gamla Stan, the Old Town, where Stockholm’s medieval castle stood until it burned down in 1697. The castle also had a spire with three crowns on top. The crowns on the City Hall Tower are made of gilded copper. Each crown is 2.2 m wide, 1.1 m high and weighs 70 kg.
